This dataset contains triaxial acceleration measurements acquired from a laboratory-scale jacket-type support structure for an offshore wind turbine, intended for the development and validation of vibration-based structural health monitoring (SHM) and damage-detection methods. The structure is a Quattropod (four-legged) jacket approximately 4.3 m in height, fabricated in ASTM A36 steel, on which a functional wind turbine operates as the excitation source at a controlled rotor speed.

Instrumentation and acquisition

The vibration responses were recorded with seven triaxial MEMS accelerometers (Analog Devices ADXL355; noise density ≈ 25 µg/√Hz) distributed over the structure, providing 21 simultaneous channels (7 sensors × 3 orthogonal axes). The signals were sampled at 250 Hz and acquired through ESP32 microcontrollers communicating over TCP/IP. Each run comprises 24,500 samples per channel, equivalent to 98 s of continuous recording.

Experimental design

Four structural conditions were investigated: Healthy (undamaged baseline) and three damage scenarios — Fault 1 (loosened bolt), Fault 2 (material deterioration), and Fault 3 (fracture). Each condition was tested at four rotor speeds (10, 14, 18, and 22 RPM) and physically repeated three times by independently dismounting and remounting the structure, generating genuinely independent realizations of each condition. The full factorial design (4 conditions × 4 speeds × 3 repetitions) produces 48 balanced experimental runs.

File organization and format

Each run is stored as an individual MATLAB .mat file containing a single variable, data, of size 24,500 × 21 (samples × channels). The files follow the naming convention class_repetition_rpmIndex.mat:

class: 1 = Healthy, 2 = Fault 1, 3 = Fault 2, 4 = Fault 3

repetition: 1–3 (independent mounting)

rpmIndex: 1 = 10 RPM, 2 = 14 RPM, 3 = 18 RPM, 4 = 22 RPM

Example: 1_1_1A.mat = Healthy condition, repetition 1, 10 RPM.
