This paper presents a mechanistic analysis of sensor faults in unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), specifically addressing the compass disturbances caused by soft magnetism and hard magnetism, as well as depth measurement errors resulting from the difference between the built-in density of the depth gauge and the actual seawater density. Based on the proposed RISE (Robust Integral of Sign of Error) method, robust compensation for sensor faults is achieved without relying on fault diagnosis results. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
